Mihara Shouma is a freshman in high school. Shouma hasn't seen his long-time friend Atsushi in 3.5 years, since they lost touch after elementary school. Atsushi contacts Shouma one day to invite him to a special festival where they may meet and converse. Shoma travels far into the mountains to the "Tanabata Seven Night Festival," but Atsushi is not present. Instead, there is a girl named Shiori, who is also looking for someone to meet. Kanna, the festival's program manager, asks that he stay until the end of the festival, so Shouma and Shiori assist Kanna in preparing for the event. Shouma and Shiori are soon drawn into a series of bizarre happenings taking place in the town.
