After a bloody conflict, the Empire of Zol now governs rival Aquafa's territory and populace, with the exception of Aquafa's Fire Horse Territory, where wild dogs that once carried the deadly Black Wolf Fever are still free to roam. Van, a former soldier who has been sold into slavery, and a young girl named Yuna are both bitten but manage to flee as the only survivors of the attack when a pack of dogs rushes into a mine under Zol control. Van and Yuna look for a straightforward life in the country after being set free. However, when the fatal disease spreads like wildfire once more, they find themselves in the middle of a conflict that spans more than just one country.
