Liz's days of seclusion end when she encounters a blue bird disguised as a little girl. Despite the fact that their connection deepens, Liz must make a heartbreaking decision in order to properly appreciate her feelings for Blue Bird. Mizore Yoroizuka and Nozomi Kasaki, high school seniors and close friends, are charged with playing the lead instruments in the third movement of Liz and the Blue Bird, a concert band composition based by this fairy story. Mizore, the shy and reticent oboist, plays the oboe, portraying the sweet and delicate Liz. Meanwhile, Nozomi, the dazzling and popular character, plays the flute as the happy and lively Blue Bird. However, as they practice, the gap between Mizore and Nozomi appears to widen. Their fragmented duet falls flat.
