Saraiya Goyou follows Masanosuke Akitsu, a wandering ronin who finds himself adrift in Japan's tranquil Edo era. Masa's modest attitude has earned him the nickname "unreliable," and he is frequently abruptly fired by his employers, forcing him to doubt his commitment as a samurai. Masa is at his lowest point when he is contacted by Yaichi, a carefree man dressed in pink who appears to employ him on the spur of the moment as his bodyguard. Unbeknownst to Masa, the work is not as benign as it appears, and he becomes entangled in the illegal operations of the organization led by Yaichi. Masa battles with his own values as he grows more involved with the "Five Leaves" gang. Nonetheless, his curiosity propels him ahead.
